Background Plants

These plants are usually taller and are placed in the rear of the aquarium to create a background effect and provide hiding places for fish.

  1. Brazilian Pennywort (Hydrocotyle leucocephala): Rapid growth, suitable for beginners. Its leaves are round and can float on the surface or be rooted in the substrate.

Midground Plants

These plants are usually shorter than background plants and are placed in the middle of the aquarium to fill gaps and add depth.    

  1. Chain Sword (Echinodorus tenellus): Dwarf grass-like plant, suitable for foreground and midground, can form dense clumps, providing hiding places for fish.

Foreground Plants

These plants are typically smaller and are placed in the front of the aquarium to create a sense of depth and increase visual appeal.
