Great light, the actual light and customization and power. The only issue is that you need full focus and 10 minutes to set up the settings and even then it's confusion and you don't really understand what's activating it.The L settings are easy, the presets are great and you can turn them on or off. But if you want to just set it to turn on at 10am and off at 6pm with white light then good luck, I've been at it days without success. The instructions explain the S settings, but you can't set a basic on and off time with one light setting that I've been able to. I'm reducing it by 1 star for this reason, it's so frustrating and maybe in the future they will have better instructions for that. For now they don't and it's worth losing a star. The bracket can tap the tank, I cut a piece of my vacuum tubing and have it between the screws and the glass and the raising up/ down bar on the back. I'm sure the tank can handle it, but I don't want to risk it as the light is about 5 pounds. The preset lighting and settings themselves are quite amazing! The lightning is super fun just to show off the light features and capability. I had many videos to choose from, but I wanted to showcase that as this is a pricey light and although some of the settings are super confusing or need better instructions, the light and lighting itself is just top notch. The price is high because it's a high end light. I don't think it's too much with comparisons to other high end coral lighting. Things really look great under it, I put it over my 10 gallon shrimp tank for fun and they looked amazing, but I don't want an algae bloom at it's too much for that tank.If the manufacturer reaches out with instructions on just a straight on/off simple setting for one light setting then I'll switch it to 5 stars. This will remain 4 star due to setup confusion until then though.I will say the only negative are the instructions you get, I want more or an option to go online for more. The video when purchasing shows the proper way to set up the hardware and mount, the instructions are incorrect and have it backwards with the up/ down arm ending up in the tank. So go by that video. No mounting wires came with the unit so you'll need to purchase separately or make something if that was the plan. The cooling fan is quiet enough. The light feels heavy duty, almost too heavy haha. No remote with it. So many options and functions, you'll definitely want to be of sound mind before setting up.Great light! Complicated, but great none the less. Better instructions on the simple on/off timer with one light setting please!**update** I gave it 5 stars because it was accepting my light changes, but when it kicks on it slowly gains light over an hour. So I just backed up the lighting I wanted by one hour and should be fine. I would love a straight on/ off timer for this expensive of a light, but it's actually more helpful for the animals for the slow on so I can't justify reducing one star for that. I'm really liking the light, my tank is cycling, but even at low color and higher white light settings it's a great view.
I’ve been running the SEAOURA LED Reef Light (120W) over my mixed reef tank for several weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed with the results. The full spectrum range from 395nm to 665nm really makes a difference in both coral health and visual pop. My SPS are showing noticeably better polyp extension and coloration, and my LPS corals look fuller and more vibrant than they did under my previous light. The fluorescence under the blue and violet channels is stunning, especially in the evenings. The programmable 24/7 custom timer is one of my favorite features. Being able to simulate sunrise, daylight, sunset, and moonlight without needing an external controller makes setup simple and keeps the lighting consistent. Once programmed, it runs smoothly without constant adjustments. I also appreciate how intuitive the controls are, no complicated menus or guesswork.Installation was quick thanks to the sturdy clip-on mount, which holds the light securely in place on my rimmed tank. The build quality really stands out. The fixture feels substantial in your hands, solid, well-constructed, and not cheap or flimsy at all. The housing has a quality finish, the mount is strong and stable, and everything fits together tightly. It runs quietly without overheating, and you can tell it’s designed to last. For a 120W fixture, the spread and intensity are excellent for SPS and LPS in a standard saltwater setup.Overall, this light delivers strong performance, great color blending, dependable programmability, and a premium feel at a very reasonable price point. If you’re looking for an upgrade that supports coral growth while enhancing the visual appeal of your reef tank, this SEAOURA reef light is absolutely worth considering.
So my first reef tank and light? Was unsure what exactly was required to both provide lighting, but also incorporate safety, and promote all the good things lighting brings... The ease of modifying to use is a great detail, so I can feel secure with perhaps taking this one step at a knowledgable time. Not having to simply deal with what is offered in a non negotiable is outstanding to my need to know more and learn as I go! The spectrum coverage is great from what I am told, and the process for set up seems to be explained well enough, so that even a total beginner as myself can understand setting up process and procedures, and those that are knowledgeable within all? They do not have to be slowed down by misunderstood instructions within process! I am very excited, looking forward to attaching pictures once all in completed but it is indeed a process for my limited knowledge. However, those whom are assisting me and DO know all say this light is amazing for price, features and the mounting system is a fab one! So happy me, I suggest you would love this also, from novice to expert? The reef lighting will be kind, and show productive developments throughout use! Thank you!
The SEAOURA LED Reef Light is a standout 120W powerhouse that’s clearly built with high-end reef tanks in mind. It covers a broad spectrum from 395nm to 665nm, which is crucial for highlighting coral fluorescence and supporting healthy SPS and LPS growth. What makes this light really impressive is the level of control it offers. The WRGB channels are highly customizable, and while the initial settings might seem a bit detailed, the system is intuitive once you dive in. You can easily cycle through countless modes using the included remote or the 24/7 custom timer to automate your photoperiods. It’s a sturdy, professional-grade light that really brings out the vibrant colors of a saltwater setup. The only minor drawback is the mounting; it comes with a very sturdy clip, but because the unit is quite heavy, having brackets or a hanging kit would have been a great extra option.
As a long-time freshwater hobbyist moving into my first reef tank, I’m impressed with the SEAOURA’s build quality. It feels high-end, not like a cheap plastic unit. The Best Parts:• Mounting Options: The biggest win here is that it includes both a tank mount and hanging hardware. I love having the choice without buying extra kits.• The Spectrum: It covers the necessary 395nm-665nm range for corals (SPS/LPS) and the 24/7 timer is easy to program.• Design: It looks sleek over the tank and the 120W output is plenty for a starter reef. The Reality Check:Since I'm still setting up my saltwater tank, I haven't tested the long-term coral growth yet, but out of the box, it feels like a superior light compared to others in this price range.Final Verdict: Great value for the price, especially with the included hanging kit. It makes the transition to saltwater much easier. As a long-time freshwater hobbyist moving into my first reef tank, I’m impressed with the SEAOURA’s build quality.
